Textbook page 68, question 10

Question:

A carpenter has 64m of baseboard. He installs 1/2 of the baseboard in one room. He installs 3/5 of the original amount of baseboard in another room. How much base board does he have left?

Answer:
64÷2=32                                  64÷5=12.8
1/2 of 64= 32                                 12.8x3=38.4
                                                       3/5 of 64= 38.4

64m-32m=32m
32m-38.4m=(-6.4m)

Simple sentence answer:
The carpenter has (-6.4m) of baseboard left.
